“I have had the privilege of watching Kellie’s career grow over the years. This has ranged from first meeting her as a student of Theatre Arts the Barbados Community College, to having her perform at my Cool Jazz series, both as a discovery segment Artiste and as a featured Artist.

As a musician,I have also on several occasions, had the privilege of working with her in various small jazz ensembles. As a professional, I have regularly hired her and groups she has configured to perform at a range of private functions and events in Barbados and on a few occasion in neighbouring islands. As an entrepreneur, I have seen Kellie embark on several enterprising cultural endeavours and her business acumen, innovative and creative spirit has impressed me every time.

Kellie also possesses a strong spirit of altruism and this has led her to paying forward to society through her creative talents.”

One night of awesome talent! That’s the treat patrons got with the compliments of the Small Business Association, which began its week of activities with a concert at the Jackie Opel Amphitheatre last Sunday. One of the outstanding performances was by Praise Academy Of Dance, who moved across the stage to the music in a well-choreographed piece. Kenneth Armstrong did not disappoint as he sang You Raise Me Up and How Great Thou Art. No stranger to the stage, this young man thrilled the audience with his performance.

Kirk Layne, musical instructor of Notes Of Praise, did a piece entitled Great Is Thy Faithfulness on the keyboard. The church-like atmosphere created through this presentation filled the people with a sense of worship and they were moved to offer praise to God. Acappella group G-Syndicate brought their experience to the stage as they got the crowd moving to a melody of old gospel favorites that included Walk Holy and Walking Up The King’s Highway.

What A Wonderful World was the first song by songbird Kellie Cadogan, who not only used the stage well, but also captivated everyone with her style and dynamic voice. She followed up with Feeling Good. Other artistes included TLC, Alexandra Trio, Adrian Green and the Israel Lovell Dancers.

The lady has amazing range. However, it was also an example of exemplar showmanship. She displayed talent that would be comfortably fitting on any Broadway stage. – See more at:
